Berkeley Shotokan Karate

The Berkeley YMCA and Berkeley Dojos are affiliated with Shotokan Karate of America (SKA). We welcome all who are interested in the serious study of traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate. We are fortunate to have a number of very experienced black belts who regularly lead practice: Michael Merlander - sandan, Amor Adams - sandan, and Vance Jones - sandan. Our dojo is composed of 30 or so people most of whom are white and brown belts and have been practicing from a few months to a number of years.
